the realization of a new project: Ideas have to be thoroughly researched, characters invented, plots
drafted and often worked out in many versions. We intend to end the loneliness of this crucial
phase.
mandrake pictures aims to accompany ideas from the start, through the entire creative process
and up to the final artistic result.
Our mission is to develop innovative and inspiring films and series to inspire audiences with
exceptional stories that stand out from the masses of offers. With individual, professional
guidance, we aim to push the boundaries of conventional storytelling.
We represents a special way of accompanying the creation of IP and the accomplishment of deals
together with the authors.

AELRUN GOETTE
SHAREHOLDER, AUTHOR, DIRECTOR Aelrun Goette grew up in East Berlin in the GDR and was not allowed to graduate from high school due to political reasons. She therefore became a qualified nurse and worked as a model for the magazine SIBYLLE. After the Wall came down, complteted her high school diploma, passed her university entrance exam, studied philosophy at the Humboldt University in Berlin and subsequently studied directing at the film school 'Konrad Wolf' in Potsdam- Babelsberg. She worked as an actress, costume and set designer, directed plays and volunteered as a Probation Officer at the Women's Detention Center Berlin Plötzensee. She wrote various screenplays and has been supporting young female colleagues on their career path for many years. Her films often deal with people - especially women - in strenuous situations and have received numerous awards. Her first documentary OHNE BEWÄHRUNG - PSYCHOGRAMM EINER MÖRDERIN, which she realized during her studies, received the Geisendörfer Award and her highly acclaimed debut DIE KINDER SIND TOT the German Film Award. Her first feature-length film UNTER DEM EIS was awarded the prestigious Grimme Prize in 2007. In addition to her films, since 2019 she is working as an Honorary Professor at the Film University Potsdam Babelsberg. Moreover, she represents the directing section on the board of the German Film Academy. Her feature film IN EINEM LAND, DAS ES NICHT MEHR GIBT had a successful run in the cinemas in 2022, had currently been nominated for three German Film Awards 2023 and won the „Lola“ for the best female supporting role by Jördis Triebel.

Dr. Axel Bauer is not only a successful lawyer, but has
also years of experience in structuring and completing
deals and transactions and creating and marketing IP
(Intellectual Property). In addition, he has managed a
German/Swiss company operationally for several years
and, later as part of his legal activity, he took over the
management of companies from various sectors up to
the point of sale. He combines, in a unique way, legal
expertise with entrepreneurial thinking and working and,
through his work for companies in the media sector, he
has in-depth knowledge of the distinctive features of the
industry.
He and his wife Barbara, who has many years of
experience as managing director, share a love of art,
literature and the media.
